Single Sign-On (SSO)
Enabling SSO (Okta or Microsoft) for Mitimes is now possible.
Single Sign-On solutions enable users to log into many different applications using only one login.
With SSO enabled, users will need to use their Okta or Microsoft (whichever SSO service the firm uses) to log into Mitimes rather than their usual Mitimes username and password.
Benefits
- Security – SSO provides many additional security benefits. Please refer to the SSO provider for further information.
- Convenience for Users – SSO means users only need to manage one login for all the systems they use, eliminating the need for password managers and reducing password reset requests etc.
- Convenience for Admins – SSO makes it much easier to enforce login rules and policies for your organisation (e.g. MFA) as there is only one user login to manage.
- Visibility and Control of Application access – SSO solutions enable IT teams to track and monitor the applications that users can access.
Okta
Once an IT Admin has enabled SSO for the organisation, users will need to log into Mitimes using their Okta login.
- If already logged into Okta, they will be automatically authenticated and logged into Mitimes after entering their email and clicking ‘Next’, and taken to their Mitimes timesheet.
- If not already logged into Okta, they will be directed to the Okta login page. After following the Okta log in process, they will be directed back to their Mitimes timesheet.
Okta Notes
- Once enabled, users will be required to log into Mitimes using their Okta account – they will not be able to use their usual Mitimes username and password.
- You cannot currently log in and bridge to Mitimes from the app dashboard in Okta itself (Internal Server Error will display if you try) so we recommend hiding the app from Okta dashboards. We will look to support this feature in future.

Microsoft
Users will be directed to log in with their Microsoft account when signing into Mitimes after entering their Mitimes username (email) and clicking Next.
Microsoft Notes
If users are already signed into their Microsoft account, they will just select their account but will not need to follow the usual Microsoft login process. They will then be authenticated and logged into Mitimes and redirected to their Mitimes timesheet:
